What comes after selecting an Asian egg donor?
How Egg Donation Works with My Asian Donor
The first step in your journey to parenthood is to register for access to My Asian Donor’s egg donor database. Single intended parents register as the Primary Intended Parent, while couples must first register one partner as the Primary Intended Parent and add the other partner as the Second Intended Parent after registering.
To register as a Primary Intended Parent:
- The intended parent (IP) may register via two methods: self-invite or invited by an admin.
- The IP receives a registration link to their email address. The registration link will redirect the IP to the login page.
- The IP logs in and accepts the privacy agreement.
- After accepting the privacy agreement, the IP is redirected to the Donor Search page.
- To view and fill out the application form, the IP must go to the My Profile page.
- Once the IP has filled out and submitted the form, they will be assigned a case manager.
To add a Second Intended Parent
- Log in as the Primary Intended Parent
- Click Profile Image, which will show three options: My Profile, Add Second Parent, and Log out.
- Click ‘Add Second Parent.’
- A popup will appear saying ‘Invite Second Intended Parent.’
- Enter the name and email address of the second user and click the ‘Invite’ button.
- The second parent will receive a registration email invitation to sign up.
Once the intended parents have registered, they can search for Asian egg donors in our database.
The Egg Donation Process
Once you have selected your egg donor through our egg donor database and completed the necessary agency paperwork to get started, your egg donor will begin the egg donation cycle. The egg donation cycle involves several stages that typically take around 4-6 weeks to complete. Here's a detailed process for how an egg donation cycle works:
Screening
The first step in the egg donation process is screening. The potential egg donor will be required to undergo a thorough medical and psychological evaluation to determine her suitability as a donor. This will involve a series of tests including blood tests, ultrasounds, and genetic screening through your IVF clinic.
Agency Fee
My Asian Donor will collect our agency fee once your donor is fully medically cleared by the clinic. You can learn more about our agency fee by reviewing our Asian Egg Donor Costs.
Legal Contract
Once your egg donor has been medically cleared by the IVF clinic, you will enter into a legal contract with the donor to protect all parties during the arrangement. My Asian Donor will connect you with a trusted legal professional to draft your contract between you and your egg donor.
Hormone Stimulation
Once egg donation agreement has been signed by all parties, the donor will be given hormone injections to stimulate her ovaries to produce multiple eggs. The hormone injection is given over a period of 10-12 days, and the donor will need to visit the clinic for regular ultrasounds to monitor the growth of her follicles.
Trigger Shot
Once the follicles have reached the desired size, the donor will be given a Lupron trigger shot that will induce ovulation.
Egg Retrieval
Approximately 36 hours after the trigger shot, the donor will undergo an egg retrieval procedure. This is a minimally invasive procedure that is performed under sedation. A needle is inserted through the vaginal wall and into the ovaries, and the eggs are aspirated from the follicles.
Overall, the egg donation cycle can be a complex and emotionally challenging process. However, it can also be an incredibly rewarding experience for all parties involved. It's important to choose a reputable clinic with experienced staff to guide you through the process and ensure the best possible outcome.
